Tommy had a port inserted to his chest for chemo. The doctors ordered 8 rounds of chemo, 2 weeks apart.

Tommy will be attending chemo at Newton Wellsley Hospital off and on from February to June. Each cycle starts in the clinic and he should be able to go home after a few hours with a chemo pump, returning to the clinic after a couple of days to disconnect the pump. His doctors tell him he will feel the worst on days 3-5. After one week of treatment, he will have one week off treatment. 

Tommy is taking leave from his work during treatment which will be a major change of pace. He is used to running around all day, teaching children and adults how to play tennis. He may be very bored! But his cat, Boo, will probably be happy to have him around.
